About the Event

An open pitlane is ran to keep track density at an optimum and avoid congestion. This means you will get UNLIMITED laps on the day – line up as often as you like.

There is no speed limit – however we have a few rules to keep the day safe. These include no passing in any braking areas. Driver behavior is monitored and anyone observed misbehaving or out-driving their car will be returned to the pits for a little chat.

Coaching / instructors will be available on the day. Extensive coaching is available for an additional fee.

Please note that the noise restriction at Sandown Raceway is 75DB from 30 metres away.

A mandatory drivers briefing will be held the morning of each track day for all drivers.

Cars must be road registered and road worthy and be able to pass our basic safety requirements. We require a three point safety belts (seat belt) at a minimum with a harnesses correctly fitted preferred. No open wheelers are accepted. Unregistered vehicles require invitation /prior approval - Send us some photos on Facebook or email us at info@performancedrivingaustralia.com.au.

Minumum age for driving at this event is 17.

Passengers are permitted for fee of $20 this is payable on the day. Passenger rides usually kick off around 10am. The Minimum age 16.

Helmets are required for all participants and will be inspected on the day. All helmets must meet the Australian standard (Full face or open face). We are not able to hire helmets - you must supply your own.

*If your vehicle does not have a roof you are required to have a full face helmet and gloves* 

Performance Driving Australia require all participants wear long pants, long sleeve shirt made out of cotton and recommend a fire extinguisher fitted safely. This will help provided protection against any foreseeable fire.

This event is ran under AASA - A day or annual license is required for participantion - these can be purchased online or on the day.

Multiple drivers are permitted to share a vehicle however each driver is required to register as a driver feel free to contact us directly for a group booking.

Bad behaviour, burnouts, power skids, donuts, bottle tops, cliff hangers or wall hugging will result in exclusion from the event. These events are run under a permit and we need to abide with all the rules and keep the track and officials happy and safe.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

COVID-19 – At the time of writing – training can be provided in all states of Australia in line with the relevant guidelines. At all times Performance Driving Australia will acknowledge and adapt procedures and practices to comply with restrictions. Please contact us for the latest information on how we comply with COVID-19 regulations.

Performance Driving Events track days are well organised, safe, fun and focus on driving enjoyment.

Please remember that on the track – your car is usually not covered by insurance. You will sign a disclaimer to acknowledge this but if you have any questions we do suggest you get your own advice. Even though these days are inherently safe – crashes can happen and things can go wrong – it is after all a higher then normal risk environment. We aren’t the fun police – however if you don’t acknowledge the risks – we don’t want you on the track!

Once you have paid – there is no refund. We can reschedule your booking if you give us minimum of 7 days notice for $50. If you are unable to attend – You can give your spot to another driver for no change fee – just let us know the name of the new driver.

Performance Driving Australia does not accept ANY responsibility for incidents/crashes/damage/injuries caused at our driving events. Please be aware drivers may be liable for any damage made to the facility. We provide a safe and controlled environment for you to practice your advanced car control skills and strongly suggest you take it easy to avoid an expensive, embarrassing or possibly painful experience.

Social media Policy

Performance Driving Australia acknowledges the booming use and demand of new technology and communication mediums (new media), and wish we all use this to benefit this activity, Motorsport and its participants.

This can occur due to the immediate nature of communication to a wise audience using social media such as Facebook, Instagram and SMS. However, participants need to be very mindful of a few key matters that could lead to inappropriate use of social media, at times unintended, and at other times without a proper understanding that once comments and posts are made or published, they are out there forever.

  • Do not include or share personal information of yourself or others in social media channels
  • Do not use offensive, provocative or hateful language
  • Do not make comments / posts that bring this activity, Motorsport or the Event organizers into disrepute
  • Use your best judgment –do not publish something that makes you the slightest bit uncomfortable, and never write/publish if you are feeling emotional or upset (or intoxicated);
  • Never post a photo of a child or young person without permission from the child’s parent or guardian
  • Never comment on rumours, do not deny or affirm them and or speculate about rumours; and
  • Always use social network forums to add value and promote the sport in a positive way.

Remember, if you cant say something nice, don’t say anything!

Any persons found to be in breach of the above policy may be excluded from all events hosted by PDA/PDE

These events are created, delivered and funded entirely by Performance Driving Australia in an attempt to reduce road trauma caused by dangerous driving on public roads.
